    This group of photographs were labeled "Howell Motors Dickerson 1968".   Ralph Dickerson was employed by Howell Electric Motors Company, for 48 years.  He was born in 1902 in Howell, and died in 1967.  Mr. Dickerson was a production supervisor and at the time of his retirement a buyer.

    The names of the others in the pictures and the locations are unknown.

    This photograph is believed to be of the Railroad Construction, Jewitt Street Bridge, C & O Railroad, Howell, Michigan.

    The C & O Railroad was formerly known as the Pere Marquette Railroad.

    This pictures is also in the "Howell Bicentennial History Book and Photographic Supplement", 1992, p. 319.

    The date and names of the persons in the photograph are unknown.

    The boy watching the elderly gentleman race has a flyer which was titled Fourth of July. The races are run going west to east on Grand River Avenue.

    Pennets for the Chautauqua are strung over the street. The Howell Chautauqua was held August 15-19, 1914 Chautauqua is an institution that provided popular adult education courses and entertainment in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
