Following his retirement in 1957, Mr. Bennett was instrumental in the formation of the Community Recreation Program, and the Howell Junior Baseball Program. He was also the Director for Howell Recreation. In 1965, he received the Howell "Citizen of the Year" award. -

This is a portrait of Amos Adams, Howell, Livingston, Michigan. Amos was a son of Samuel Adams, a Revolutionary War soldier. Amos was born November 25, 1783 at Dublin, New Hampshire. He died May 14, 1855 at Howell, Livingston, Michigan, and is buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Howell. He was a surveyor and hotel keeper according to the label on his portrait.
Amos was married to Elizabeth "Betsy" Wright.
