  • Mike Hagman, Fred Catrell

    They recorded the placement of the Brass Plaque on the Stone in front of the Howell Carnegie Library.  The plaque marked the placement of the Time Capsule which was buried March 9, 1977 by the Howell Bicentennial Committee.

    The man chipping away at the stone in preparation for the plaque was Dick Kline of Kline's Lettering Service, Durand, Michigan.

    The men placing the plaque were Mike Hagman, city councilman,  and Fred Catrell, Executive Director of the Howell Chamber of Commerce.

    This group of photographs were taken at the Howell Carnegie District Library on Election Night, 1988, when the Library Millage was on the Ballot.   Bob Watson, board member, was the photographer.

    These photographs were taken at the event of the unveiling of the Howell Carnegie Library's Model Addition.  It was held at the library, July 7, 1988.  Its theme was "Bridging Yesterday to Tomorrow".

    These two photographs show Girl Scouts of Howell Michigan presenting Paul Bennett, Howell Public Schools Athletic Director, and chairman of the committee to build a community playground a  check, 1949.   In 1949, civic groups in Howell, Michigan raised $3000 for a community playground that was located on West Grand River Avenue.

    The exact date and names of the Scouts in the photograph are unknown.  The man in the photographs is Paul Bennett.

    These are photographs taken of Girl Scouts who participated in a service project,  the "Pick up trash for Clean Up Day".  Afterwards, they had hot dogs at Chamber of Commerce, 404 East Grand River Avenue, Howell, Michigan.
